Shaping your path? Put yourself in charge of the most important one-person enterprise: your career. Stand out, become visible for those things that you are better at.
There are plenty of resources on LinkedIn and the internet. Here are four of my favorite resources, packed with inspiration and practical tools, to adopt an entrepreneurial attitude in your career:
- I love the concept of “Planting your flag”, conquer the territory where you are at your best, and let people know about it – Jeff Gothelf‘s book Forever Employable: https://jeffgothelf.com/foreveremployable/
- Dorie Clark has a ton of valuable tools for re-shaping your career path. Check the 100+ questions to ask yourself to differentiate and find new avenues. Get them at https://dorieclark.com/ and even better read the book: “Stand out”.
- The Startup of You – Reid Hoffman – the book and more at https://www.thestartupofyou.com/
- Live with integrity, find meaning and satisfaction in your work and your relationships. Clayton Christensen is known better for his work on innovation. His book – “How will you measure your life” – written at a time of intense personal reflection, provides insights beyond career. I bought the book in an airport and couldn’t let go of it until I finished reading it by the end of the flight – An all-time favorite of mine.
Coming next – communicate your message with influence. Use the latest cognitive psychology and neuroscience research.
