You\u2019ve probably seen the famous IKIGAI diagram: four neat circles asking the Big Questions\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you love?
What are you good at?
What can you be paid for?
What does the world need?<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a nice idea. But here\u2019s the thing: for most of us, trying to \u201cfind our passion\u201d or \u201cchange the world\u201d can feel completely<\/em> overwhelming. Like, do I really need to \u201clove\u201d my work every single day<\/em>? And does the world actually<\/em> need another consultant, coach, or copywriter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, let\u2019s throw out the pressure to be perfect and reframe IKIGAI into something\u2026 doable. I mean, wouldn\u2019t it be nice to feel like you\u2019re already good enough\u2014and not waiting around for some magical purpose to show up? What if you can use IKIGAI inside-out, from what you plan to do to how you do it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s my take:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1.        What do you love about what you plan to do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s stop obsessing over finding \u201cwhat you love\u201d and start asking: What can you love about what you\u2019re already planning to do?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love doesn\u2019t have to be this big, sweeping, soulmate-level thing. It can be tiny\u2014like enjoying how your work challenges you, the people you help, or even the coffee breaks between tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try this:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about the work you\u2019re doing (or planning to do). Write down three things<\/em> you could love about it. Is it the creativity? The connection with others? The problem-solving? Focus on that\u2014it\u2019s enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            2.        What are you good ENOUGH at, given the people you want to serve?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Spoiler alert: you don\u2019t need to be the best. (Phew.) You just need to be good enough<\/em> for the people you want to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your audience isn\u2019t looking for perfect. They\u2019re looking for someone who understands them, who\u2019s relatable, and who can solve their<\/em> problem. And guess what? That\u2019s you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try this:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Think about the people you\u2019d love to work with. Write down one skill, talent, or experience you already have that they\u2019d find valuable. (Seriously, just one. Keep it simple!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            3.        Who would pay for your service?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Listen, there\u2019s always someone who\u2019ll pay for what you offer. The trick is finding your people\u2014and that starts with putting yourself out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to appeal to everyone. Focus on the folks who\u2019ll appreciate your style, your approach, and your vibe. They\u2019re out there, trust me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try this:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Make a list of three types of people or businesses who might need what you do. Then, brainstorm one way you could connect with them\u2014like sending a message, joining a group, or creating a piece of content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            4.        Why is it important? How will the larger audience, or the world around you, benefit from your service?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No, you don\u2019t have to \u201csave the world.\u201d But your work can still make an impact\u2014even if it\u2019s just for a small audience or a niche community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe you help someone feel more confident. Maybe you make their life a little easier or more fun. That\u2019s enough. (And hey, small ripples can lead to big waves.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try this:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Write down one way your work will make someone\u2019s life better. It can be big or small. Then remind yourself: this<\/em> is your contribution\u2014and it matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why This Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IKIGAI doesn\u2019t have to feel like a high-stakes treasure hunt. You don\u2019t need to \u201cfind your purpose\u201d in some grand, life-changing way. It\u2019s about showing up, doing work you can enjoy, and helping people who need you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \u2022               You\u2019re already good enough for the right audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \u2022               There\u2019s always someone who\u2019ll value\u2014and pay for\u2014what you offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \u2022               You don\u2019t have to love everything about your work\u2014just find enough<\/em> to love in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, stop waiting. Start where you are, use what you\u2019ve got, and build from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, go write your list, reach out to that audience, or just take a step forward. You\u2019ve got this.
